Chiropractic is the art and science of removing subluxations. A vertebral subluxation is a positional alteration of the bone and joint that affects the nerves that exit and innervate the spine.

When these vertebra are misaligned or subluxated, a number of things change:

First: Their ability to normally bear postural weight changes.

Second: The nerves inside the joints that report sensory and positional information to the spinal cord and brain begin transmitting abnormal information.

Third: The spinal nerves and nerve roots can become irritated and start sending abnormal signals into the body. These signals affect everything from the muscles surrounding the spine to the organs and viscera in the abdomen. Ultimately any of those changes can result in creating pain and dysfunction.

When the spine is in normal alignment, nerves function properly and the body functions normally. The spine needs periodic adjustments for stabilizing proper alignment.

The sad fact is that many nerve related problems mimic medical problems, and patients never know it. They repeatedly visit their medical doctor to find out what is going wrong andget something to cure their symptoms, never realizing that the real cause could be spinal misalignment.
